What Do We Believe!
FBC Wortham hold several core beliefs that shapes our theological framework.
  1. Authority of Scripture:  The Bible is the ultimate authority in shaping a person’s life. It is God’s divinely inspired revelation of Himself to humanity—true, trustworthy, and without error.

  2. Believer’s Baptism: We reject infant baptism. Baptism is seen as an ordinance for believers only, performed by immersion. It symbolizes Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, as well as the believer’s new birth and transformation.

  3. Autonomous Churches: FBC Wortham operates autonomously, under the Lordship of Christ through democratic processes. Members are accountable to Christ, and church officers include pastors and deacons.

  4. Evangelical Faith: We adhere to Evangelical beliefs. We recognize humanity’s fallen state but emphasize that Christ paid the penalty for sin on the cross. Salvation is offered freely to all who receive Christ in His resurrection. Evangelism and missions play a central role in Baptist life.

  5. Heaven and Hell: FBC Wortham believes in a literal, real heaven and hell. Those saved by Christ will live eternally in God’s presence, while those who die without God's salvation will spend an eternity apart from Him in hell.

  6. Ordination and Gender Roles: Scripture teaches that men and women are equal in value but have different roles in the family and the church. Pastoral leadership positions are reserved only for men.

  7. Trinitarian Belief: Central to our theology is the belief in one Triune God—eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — as revealed in the Scriptures. Each person of the Trinity is co-equal in power and authority.

The way we operate as a liked minded body of believers

To ensure that we can function as one, to be a Godly force within our community, while sharing the love of Jesus Christ. We must have a cooperative guideline that we all agree upon, keeping us outwardly focus and not internally useless.
